The Shiwiar Rainforest Intiative

Shiwiar Territory is located in Pastaza province, in Amazonian Ecuador, at around S02o 00 W076o 45.

 

The work in this report was done over the summer of 2000 by a team of UK and Ecuadorian researchers and students, with the aim of assisting in the progress towards a sustainable future for the Shiwiar people.

 

The results of this work are published in a report available to download in PDF chapters as listed below. It is available in English, and in Spanish where indicated. Spanish version is available on request and will be added here when I get some time to do it!

 

Other records include a set of tapes of all interviews, currently held by the Shiwiar organization in Puyo, and a video about the trip.
